Reconstructing Clinical Events by Interpreting NICU Monitoring Data
نویسنده
چکیده
Several studies are reported in literature that use electronically recorded data for aiding decision support/reporting in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). In this PhD research I investigate techniques to automatically reconstruct clinical events that are not recorded directly but could be reconstructed from continuous physiological data and other discrete data.

The effect of variation of stellar dispersion velocities by the galactic latitude in interpreting gravitational microlensing observations
Our galaxy is a spiral galaxy and its stars are mostly in a thin disk and rotate around the galactic center. The vertical component of the dispersion velocity of stars is a function of the galactic latitude and decreases with increasing it. In the galactic Besancon model, this dependence is ignored and they just consider the dependence of dispersion velocity on the stellar age. Becanson model i...
متن کاملNeonatal Hypertension: Etiology, Diagnosis and Management
Neonatal hypertension is a rare and complex condition, with an incidence rate of 0.2% to 3%. It can be resulted by several risk factors such as renal diseases, use of several drugs, neurologic, cardiac, respiratory and endocrine causes. Gestational age, birth weight and conceptual age are the most important risk factors. Renal diseases can be found in about 25% to 50% of hypertension at neonata...
متن کاملThe clinical and policy implications of new measures of premature infant growth.
With the rates of premature delivery still exceeding 11% and increased survival rates, there has been growing attention to the processes of care during a child’s stay in the NICU that optimize their shortand long-term outcomes. As pointed out in the recent article by Olsen et al, the appropriate growth of a prematurely born infant may have a significant impact on his or her developmental and gr...
متن کاملConsistent management of repeated procedural pain with sucrose in preterm neonates: Is it effective and safe for repeated use over time?
OBJECTIVE Preterm neonates undergo numerous painful procedures in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Sucrose, with and without pacifiers, is effective and safe for relieving pain from single painful events. However, repeated use of sucrose for multiple painful procedures has not been adequately evaluated. The study objectives were to: 1) determine the efficacy and safety of consistent man...
متن کاملA portable near infrared spectroscopy system for bedside monitoring of newborn brain
BACKGROUND Newborns with critical health conditions are monitored in neonatal intensive care units (NICU). In NICU, one of the most important problems that they face is the risk of brain injury. There is a need for continuous monitoring of newborn's brain function to prevent any potential brain injury. This type of monitoring should not interfere with intensive care of the newborn. Therefore, i...
